WHAT TO BRING?
A water bottle
You probably won’t drink as much during Pilates as an aerobic workout, however, you’ll still need water available to keep you hydrated before, during and after class.
Keep clothes simple
I advise comfortable, stretchy clothing in which you can freely move. In Pilates lots of movement is required such as bending, twisting and stretching. I suggest leggings or jogging bottoms and a t-shirt or sports vest.
A sweater
You can peel layers off as you warm up.
A head cushion
A small towel
A mat
A Pilates mat needs to be well-padded (10mm -15mm thick) to cushion the spine, knees and wrists. Be aware Yoga mats are traditionally a lot thinner and may not provide enough padding to use comfortably in a Pilates class. Have a look at my guide to buying a mat.
